My Home Office Tour

My home office tour is finally here! It's been a long time coming and I have been meaning to post this but knowing my self, I don't like posting when I'm not finished with a project. Honestly, I feel like I'm never going to be fully done since I'm going to be moving things around but for the most part, it's done. When I think about it, it's fun to see the process so that is why I felt the need to share. If you would like to check out what my room looked like before, check out my previous blog post: My Office Room Transformation

For the overall feel of the room, I wanted a space that was cozy, organized, warm, and had a touch of mid century modern. My color palette consists of a lot of earthy, neutral, and warm tones so my room basically goes with what I like to wear and the rest of our home too. Home tour soon?

My goal is to add more plants and some shelving soon but I'm super indecisive on where to put everything. I want it all but we know that's not going to happen. Another thing I know for sure is when my space is tidy and organized, I feel more productive, inspired, and wanting to work. Otherwise, your girl will slack off a lot!

When you first walk into my office, you'll be greeted with a "good morning" from Asa. She is beautiful and cute but be warned, she's also crazy and an extremely messy roommate to have. Plus she doesn't even pay rent so what gives?

When I want to look alive and decent, I love to get ready at my vanity. I topped off my IKEA desk with a beautiful mirror I bought from a local Hospice Thrift Store. Basically a ton of my decor is from a variety of places: Ross, TJMaxx, Amazon, Cost Plus, Target, and Thrift Stores. You can view some of my finds here

I didn't mention it before but Asa is also judgmental. I'm curious what she is thinking? Hmm....

Now let me tell you about my grey mirror. I love the color and the look BUT be careful when purchasing mirrors from Ross. This one is janky and I will eventually replace it with a better quality mirror. Other than that, I adore my lovely authentic mid century chair. It was gifted to Adam and I by his mama. She's such a sweetheart!

If you're looking for a nice plant stand, you can find some good ones over at IKEA. I swear they have some of the best affordable finds and some nice plants too!

Oh hi! I got Suki to look at the camera by yelling out "treat." And yes I did give her a treat for being such a great model.

My desk. My sanctuary. My space. This is where I get all my editing, netflix watching, and computer work done. Fun fact, my desk use to belong to Adam when he was a child. I think that's just the cutest and it's rather spacious too so I love! If you peep to the right where my magazine rack is, I have displayed some of my published work. It's such a cool feeling to have my work published on the cover of magazines and international books. It's a nice reminder of how much my hard work has paid off.

All the corners of my room are my favorite. They are pieces of my personality and all the things I love. And yes I am well aware I need to steam out my curtains, shhhhhh.

As you can see I am ready for Autumn. Normally I pack away my sweaters, coats, etc., and swap them out for more Spring/Summer pieces (as seen on the left) but I have donated a bunch of my clothing which has helped simplified my wardrobe. I have been doing my best to be more conscious about how I purchase and to make sure it is sustainable, eco friendly, ethical, and a necessity. Don't get me wrong, there are times where I have the urge to treat my self but I play the game of "add to cart" and say "just kidding" all the damn time. Instead I spend my earnings on delicious food, my pets, and on Adam. I would rather spend it on others anyway.

Anyway, they say the "best things take time." I don't know who "they" are but they're obviously not wrong. I hope you enjoyed my office room tour as I enjoyed writing it up for you. Maybe it will give you ideas for your own creative space and or home. Either way, thank you for taking the time to read and have a lovely week.

Best,
Anny
