My 2018 Skincare Routine

For today's post, it's all about skincare!

Here's a little history on what my skin is like. I have combination sensitive skin and will occasionally flare up with rosacea when it's hot out. I also normally have an oily t zone area but that has decreased since 2017. Oh how hormones, stress, diet, and age can change your skin. During the colder season, my skin tends to be on the drier side but I have found several ways to help add some life back to my skin. Occasionally I will get a few acne bumps here and there, especially if I have been eating a bit too much greasy food (AKA french fries), spicy food, or when my hormones are acting out. You know, when it's that time of the month.

Overall, I try to keep the products I use as natural and simple as possible. Please keep in mind what works for me may not work for you as everyone is unique and different. I have tested out a lot of products over the years and these have been my go to. All reviews and opinions are my honest truth and I am not sponsored by any of the companies listed. I just love anything that has to do with skincare and helping out others so enjoy the read!

In the morning, I wash my face with cool water and no cleanser. I do this because I don't want to strip my natural oils and honestly, it doesn't feel like I need to in the AM. My holy grail moisturizer which I swear by is First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration and I have been using this both day and night since October 2017. A friend recommended me to try it out since I have sensitive/rosacea prone skin. Oh my goodness, what wonders this product has done! What's nice about it is that is meant for all skin types and I love that it works well for my sensitive skin. It's said to combat redness, dryness, as well as fine line and wrinkles. I definitely feel like it works with hydrating and keeping my skin from feeling dry. As for fine lines and wrinkles, I'm currently 28 but anything to slow down the process, I'm all for it. If you want a non-greasy moisturizer, this is amazing. Also, it doesn't hurt that it is formulated without parabens, sulfates, as well as phthalates. Got to love cruelty-free products!

After I apply moisturizer, I then apply a few drops of Cosmedica's Hyaluronic Acid Serum for Skin on my face, neck, and chest area. It has improved my skin texture, added plenty of moisture, and my skin has been glowing. I cannot live without this product and I'll use it both day and night just to get that extra plump of hydration. Every so often I will apply two to three drops of Aria Starr Beauty ORGANIC Argan Oil to mix up my skincare routine. I was sent this to test out and I honestly can say it has been wonderful. It has an earthy scent but disappears after a few minutes but I quite like the smell. I love that you are able to use this product for not only your skin but also your hair and nails. Win win situation!

Lastly before I head out the door, I have to apply Rejuvelle SPF 45 Sunscreen I was on the search for a product that wasn't greasy or felt like sunscreen. I totally hate the filmy feel and this was great! It felt refreshing to the skin and smells of cucumber. It not only protects against UVA/UVB but it moisturizes as well. There isn't any white residue and it doesn't dry out your skin. This is a must in anyone's skincare and if there's anything you should wear when you go out, it should be sunscreen.

In the evening, I like to take off all the grim and dirt with Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes I love that these wipes contain vitamins B5 and E as well as it doesn't have any artificial fragrance, alcohol, or harsh chemicals. If it's not obvious by now, I have super sensitive skin so this has been perfect and effective. I also use First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser  to make sure there isn't any left over makeup/residue. It's fragrance-free, gentle, and leaves my skin feeling super soft afterward. It has a whipped texture and blends on like cream when mixed with water. I love that it calms my skin from environmental irritations and makes it feel super clean.

Afterward I will drop two - three drops of Rosehip Seed Oil Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil Tamanu Oil, and my First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Moisturizer on my t zone and neck area. Also, if I have any blemishes I will dilute a few drops of Tea Tree Oil (if you have a Trader Joe's in your area, you can get this product cheaper) and dot them on my problem areas.

Now onto exfoliation. About once a week, I like to apply Skinfood Black Sugar Mask  on my face and especially around my nose area. Occasionally, I will use it on my back/chest area while I'm in the shower. If you want to have extra smooth skin enriched with vitamins and minerals, try this scrub out. I recommend diluting the mask with some water when you apply to your skin as it can be a bit on the rough side. Also, once a week I love to use a face mask Entel Face Masks and I do love this brand but I am always willing to try out new face masks. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to let me know. Check out all the links down below to learn more about each product. If you give them a try, let me know how they worked for you. Thanks for taking the time to read and have a beautiful Friday!

XO,
Anny
