My Fav Series on Netflix

Times are uncertain right now but if you're under quarantine and want to give yourself a break from the news, here are a few shows that you might not have seen yet. If you have any suggestions as well, I would love to hear.

*Feel free to click on the title links to watch the trailers of the shows mentioned.*

Kingdom: Let me just say, Korean's know how to do Zombie horror. With only two action packed seasons to binge and six episodes a season, you will be thoroughly entertained. The way the story unfolds keeps me constantly on the edge of my seat. I cannot wait until season 3! I hope they renew it because oh boy am I ready.

Dark: Now let me tell you about one of my favorite shows EVER. It's a German Sci-Fi Thriller with a lot of mystery, puzzles, and twists. Everything is connected and you're going to be scratching your head trying to piece it all together. The music, the cinematography, the story consistency, the color-grading, wow. I don't want to give away too much so do yourself a favor and add this to your list. I'm anticipating the last season 3 which comes out in June. So excited!

Vagabond: The story revolves around a stuntman who got involved with a civilian plane crash. He tries desperately to find the hidden truth. There is a bit of romance, a lot of action, and definitely some humor. This was an enjoyable Korean show and if you haven't noticed, yes I watch a lot of Kdramas. The story-line flowed and transitioned well, the fight scenes were entertaining, and the suspense had you wanting more.

Altered Carbon: The show is set in the future where humans can survive physical death by having their consciousness and memories implanted into new bodies. The setting is visually stunning, gritty, and fun to watch. If you're info sci-fi cyberpunk type of an atmosphere and a fan of action, this one's for you. Also season 2 came out not too long ago so that means more to watch!

Memories of Alhambra: This Korean show is about a CEO of an investment company who puts his money into a AR game that transcends into the real world. The only thing, there's a glitch in the system which causes many problems. There is love, action, and fantasy and the show keeps you on your toes. It is most certainly entertaining and I haven't seen anything like it.

The Haunting of Hill House: It's a supernatural horror that has sent shivers down my spine. The first season is loosely based on the 1959 novel by Shirley Jackson which I want to put on my "to read" list. The story follows 4 siblings who grew up in a famous haunted house. As they enter adulthood, they are forced back together in the face of tragedy to face the ghosts of their pasts. It's a tragic story but beautifully done. I wouldn't want to watch it alone.

Locke & Key: It's a story about the Locke siblings along with their mother and their return to their ancestral home "Keyhouse." As the kids explore and discover keys which open various doors to their unique powers, a mysterious character awakens and tries to steal the keys from them. At first I thought the show was meant for younger audiences but the more I watched, the more I realized it was most certainly not.

I am Not Okay With This: It's about a teenager girl who navigates the trials and tribulations of high school while dealing with trauma, the complexities of her family, sexuality, and mysterious superpowers. With only 8 episodes, it's a fast watch so if you don't like investing too much time into a show, then check this one out.

Ozark: I'm incredibly excited season 3 is coming out March 27th, 2020. I have been anticipating their return for what feels like forever. If you're into crime, suspense, and a whole lot of drama then you'll most likely love Ozark. It is about a financial adviser who moves his family from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks where he must launder money to appease the big ol' drug boss. The show keep's getting crazier and crazier and I'm all for it.

The OA: Although the show was cancelled, the two seasons that are out are well worth a watch. It's a mystery drama and without a doubt has one of the most unique stories. The way it unfolds is beautiful, imaginative, and thought-provoking. There is nothing like it. Just go and watch it, friends.

Twin Peaks: (I couldn't find a good trailer but I this will do) By far one of the most original masterpieces to have ever been made. It's as if you're watching a dream or a nightmare unfold into the real world. It's a crime and drama mixed with surrealism. Some shows such as Riverdale, Pretty Little Liars, Veronica Mars, Wayward Pines were all inspired by Twin Peaks.

If you haven't noticed by now, my favorite genres include crime, thriller, mystery, sci-fi, and horror but I wanted to share ones that I felt deserve the love. How many of these have you watched and what will you be adding to your "to watch" list? Happy watching!

XO,
Anny
